Travel With Me Mexico
Roma Norte is in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City, and is where a lot of trendy Mexicans and ex-pats tend to live. The architecture reminded me so much of New York City, (minus the insane skyscrapers) but had a vibrant and rich Mexican culture with authentic food stands on every corner, and local shops and boutiques.
There are a few spots to go hear a great DJ and dance specifically, however many of the nicer restaurants double as nightclubs that are insanely hard to get reservations at. Luckily, I have some friends that live locally and know the right kind of people to get us a reservations 😉

Upon landing in Mexico City, I took an Uber to meet up with my friends until our Airbnb was ready.
The first stop was an upscale cigar lounge with hand crafted cocktails called Cigar Point MX.
I personally don’t smoke cigars but the smell was warm and dark, mixing with the heat and the scent of the leather chairs we sat in as we sipped our fresh margaritas.
Now those, I happen to love.
On a rooftop, the sound of people biking around and laughing billowed up to us on on the wind, the ring of Spanish in the air reminding me I was no longer in the USA.

For dinner, we went to Sonoro Prime. The food was rich and delicious, while the atmosphere was definitely Vegas dinner club style, or perhaps a day club in Tulum. The had bone barrow tacos which were a fan favorite, and their tempura was also a big hit with our group!
Day 2
Coffee is muy neccisito por Jessica every day, and the cappuccinos at Peltre Loncheria in Polanco were a fluffy delight.
I tried the egg in a hole sandwich and it was scrumptious.
The day was spent shopping around Polanco, a beautiful area of Mexico City with parks on every corner, where you can find designer stores like Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
Dinner was at Cuerno Calzada, famous for it’s tomahawk wagyu steaks and crazy dessert displays! As you can see from the photos below, we tried it all.
You can book with them on Open Table, or through their google phone number.

Day 3
We took a Hot Air Balloon Flight over Teotihuacan, from Mexico City. There was an Uber driver who was able to take us there, and we EASILY found one to take us back as well. Don’t let them fool you into thinking you should pay them extra to wait around, it’s not as remote as they say ;).
It takes about an hour drive to get to the Teotihuacan area, and for this experience, we went in groups up in the hot air balloon. The first group would go, wile the second group was served breakfast, and then vice versa. It was definitely a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it!

After all of that flying around, we were hungry for some mid-day tacos, and a margarita you can’t forget about the margs… and found this BEAUTIFUL restaurant Paramo that I would definitely recommend, it’s super instagramable and yummy.

Dinner was going to be late, at 8 or 9pm at Supra Roma Rooftop. There is a club scene, and the food and drinks were supposed to be bomb. I ended up not being too hungry for dinner, but I did think the views were gorgeous and the drinks and aesthetic made it worth it. My friends told me they loved their food for the record 🙂

Day 4
A weekend, our fourth day consisted of a beautiful brunch at Freims, a walk around Central Mexico Park, and a lovely dinner at Sartoria to end our stay.
Brunch was always a must every day, as we typically skipped lunch in favor of a bigger supper.
Freims gave me the best brunch I think I’ve ever had, American or Mexican. A fusion of yellow poppy seed pancakes, and chilaquiles, everything was mouth watering.

On this last full day in Mexico City, we toured around the City Center Park, and went to the Mall to experience more of life like a local.

Sartoria is where we had our last fabulous dinner.

Day 5
ENO for brunch and my favorite cappuccino, and last chilaquiles of the trip before a drive to the airport! It had been a wonderful trime and we were sad to be leaving but excited that we’d bought back a bit of the magic with us.
